My thinking is that we need some automated workflow to generate these for all plate models and plate model updates. We have a workflow in GPlately that does this in notebook 10-SeafloorGrids.ipynb. Only problem is that it can take several hours to produce a set of grids. This will timeout on GitHub Actions, but perhaps we can set up our own custom runner on Panthalassa or somewhere else.
I don't expect this to happen any time soon, but just opening this issue for us to think on and revisit sometime in the future...
