So, I moved one of the Windows 10 machines to v8, alongside Mint Linux.
My windows machine does not have widescreen monitor, so I unticked Wide Screen option in Settings. My Mint Linux system straight away switched to 4:3 arrangement.

Please make these settings apply to local machine only.

If you move to a new machine do you have to configure everything again? If not then you need default settings and local settings. It gets a bit complicated. I understand the desire for this feature but I'm not convinced it's with the added complication.

When I move another machine I could configure it to that machines preference and screen size.
I do understand that people with folding farms will be using single PC to monitor the farm. If the change is complicated it is not really essential

I would prefer that all appearance settings be stored in the browser local db for the site.
