[Bug]: Mobile devices cannot send/recieve files to/from desktop devices

What happened?

When sending files to or from a mobile device using a desktop device (and vice versa), the file does not send. It says encrypting, then does nothing else.

Devices tested

• iPhone 6s iOS 15.7.1 (Mobile Safari) --> Ubuntu 22.10 (Firefox & Vivaldi)

Were you on the same wifi network with both of these? Do the devices both show up?

Yes to both

What size file were you uploading? It seems to work for me on various combinations of browsers:

• Samsung Internet ↔ Arc on Mac

• Kiwi Browser ↔ Arc on mac

• No errors on console on either side. Brief note though: Sometimes uBlock Origin will block requests to icanhazip.com, the API I use to get the IP. Try setting the ?ip parameter in the URL to the same thing on both of them

  • I doubt this is what happened in your case as you saw both devices show up.
