[FEATURE] <allow the word Black> #759
Comments
To have the bot ignore it, the rule needs to be added to this config file https://github.com/EddieHubCommunity/EddieBot/blob/main/src/config/AlexJsOptions.ts (AlexJS library rules https://github.com/retextjs/retext-equality/blob/main/rules.md ) |
Hello @CBID2 ,
We just don't want someone or a potential spammer to join in and speak bad words hurting the mentality of people based on their color. I am an emotionally sensitive person too, even if a spammer would join and speak bad words related to my race, ethinicty, gender, color i'd feel bad. So in order to keep everything neutral we removed all colors which someone might relate to person. That's all i had to say, hope i was able to convey my point. |
Hey @iamtamal. Looking back at your comment, I do understand why that decision was made. Thanks for hearing me out. |
Description
Hi there! :) I noticed that the bot flagged the term, Black. I think this term should be removed because it is used to describe the color of objects. The decision is also goes against the organization's mission to create an inclusive environment because it communicates the following message to me and the other Black members of this community, "Black is a bad thing".
