HotDog! Tutorial: Problem on Ubuntu 24.10 - "dx serve --desktop" failing w/ segfault on startup

Hello. I'm working through the HotDog! tutorial. When I try to "dx serve --platform desktop" I get a segmentation fault as follows on startup:

How best to debug this? What could be the cause? Is this a known issue?

I'm on Ubuntu 24.10 and I'm running with Wayland.
