The readme says to use an up-to-date LaTeX installation, but in fact the template does not work with the latest version (I'm using TeX Live 2025), it causes a bunch of errors related to use of unknown command \DeclareDocumentMetadata.

Investigating this made me realize that this command was deprecated a while ago and recently removed. Apparently, it was renamed to \DocumentMetadata.
