What tool do you want?
an heic image converter.

Describe the solution you'd like
Would like ability to convert in either direction for all image formats so more people could take advantage of it.

Is their example of this tool in the wild?
https://www.npmjs.com/package/heic-convert

Additional context
There are free online converts and python scripts you can use, but having something accessible from anywhere through it-tools would be money.

heic formats aren't accepted in many places, especially sites where you may need to upload important documents/gov't id's. because they dont' support heic that either means changes phone camera settings everytime you want a nonheic or you have to stay off heic entirely for the few times you don't need it. uploading files to the free online converters aren't really a problem unless you have sensitive documents you cannot share with random 3rd parties in that way.
