Regularly cases and death are not updated for France.

In that case I use the numbers for new cases and new death from the page below in my update, but is that the same numbers that you use?

Numbers are not the same as from the site you mention.
But the numbers in the csv's are irregular: the negative Delta's are peculiar

CSV          Cnfrmd   Delta   Deaths  Delta
20-08-20   242413   -125    30300  0
19-08-20   242538   -54      30300  -1
18-08-20   242592   -58      30301  -1
17-08-20   242650   3344   30302  23
16-08-20   239306   -39      30279  0
15-08-20   239345   3231   30279  0
14-08-20   236114              30279

Hello both,

@flasp2 our numbers are sourced from the same reporting entity. We take directly from the OpenCOVID19-fr dataset, who mirror the raw data posted on the Sante Publique Tableau dashboard. We have noted the same issue as you that occasionally their data goes stale, occasionally updating only every other day. As this is the sole reporting entity for the entirety of France, we are at the mercy of their reporting practices.

@bobromeo the negative deltas you see are a consequence of precisely the issue raised by @flasp2. Our approach for France is documented in issue #2459. Essentially, the data reported by France includes cases/deaths in their overseas territories and departments that we report separately within our time series. This requires us to source these numbers directly from the regional sources and perform arithmetic on the data from Sante Publique to calculate the total number of cases/deaths in continental France:

(France confirmed & probable cases/deaths in ESMS (via Sante Publique)) - (confirmed cases/deaths in Guadeloupe, Mayotte, French Guiana, Reunion, & Martinique (via Regional Governments)).

The issue is when our method is combined with stale data from Sante Publique. In those instances, rises in cases or deaths in any of the overseas territories reduce the amount of cases reported by Sante Publique that can be assigned to continental France, resulting in negative deltas for that entry. It is quite unfortunate, but necessary for our logic if we are to report to the level of resolution that we desire. Historically, it has infrequently been an issue but the Sante Publique reporting is seemingly becoming less reliable.

Please let us know if this is not clear.
