There is a bug in the current spyder 2.3.0 which is planned to be fixed in the 2.3.2 release due out in late October https://code.google.com/p/spyderlib/issues/detail?id=1971

Once 2.3.2 is out, I'll submit a pull request to update

@doutriaux1 @aashish24 want to assign me to this task as a 2.1 milestone?

@aashish24 as noted above the 2.3.2 release isn't out yet - it's due in late Oct, so once it exists (and I've tweaked files) I'll issue the pull request

Still awaiting the 2.3.2 release to hit the ground/download site.. Once this is available I'll issue a pull request for all open source update issues: #856, #847, #846 (which is going to need some testing), and #841

It would also be useful to consider the current 7.0 beta release of ESMF which is relevant to #819..

Release of 2.3.2 is imminent, https://bitbucket.org/spyder-ide/spyderlib/downloads#tag-downloads - will update sources once they're released and create a pull request
