Hi @SanDiego2049, I see on your profile that you are based in Nigeria. For some reason the ISPs or the state blocks IPs of our servers. Only solution we have found to help the users is to use the VPN. I am investigating other solutions but without any luck :( |
Oh my! So the issue isn't from you guys, but rather my country?! I'm so tired. Alright, thank you. I'd try using a VPN and getting back to you if there's any luck. Thanks @agajdosi. |
The VPN worked @agajdosi, thank you so much. Please do not give up on getting a permanent solution to our predicament, we will be eternally grateful. |
Hi @SanDiego2049, I am glad it works for you now. I am not giving up on finding the solution for you and everybody in Nigeria, it matters to me and the company. @SanDiego2049 is this any wider problem in Nigeria? Like political reasons, why some websites are blocked? Or technical? If you know any source to this problem and you could send me the link, I would be very happy to get the insight and then find a solution. |
The problem @agajdosi is that the government bans things they don’t understand or can’t exploit. You must have heard of the Binance ban in Nigeria? So that’s what they do, and now I have no idea at all as to why BlenderKit would be banned. It makes absolutely no sense. If only blender or blenderkit had an in-built vpn or something. |
@SanDiego2049 I am afraid adding built-on VPN or proxy would make the things worse for the users as the service might get banned automatically in China and elsewhere... because it would be against their stupid laws. Another option which I have realized just recently is that we share the same IP as other services on cloud and maybe those services are those which are banned and we are just unlucky. Needs some investigation. WDYT @PetrDlouhy is it possible that our CDN/cache use same IP for multiple services? |
@agajdosi I think that is true. Our IP points to CloudFlare proxy. But I expect it would affect half of the internet, if this IP would get blocked. @SanDiego2049 I reformatted your initial report a bit to make it more readable. |
@PetrDlouhy But is it possible that then they route the traffic to several (thousands of) shared IPs? You may take a look at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KHB2F8R4o8, I am not sure if it's applicable to our service, but it could be. |
