I have two windows open, window (A) and window (B).

  1. Open Tabby while on window (A)
  2. Select a tab in the non-active window (B) (through keyboard or mouse click, doesn't matter)

Window (B) (with the selected tab) flashes for a second, then window (A) appears without focus, i.e. all the extension icons are greyed out a bit, just as if the window was in the background.

If I alt-tab to another program then back to Firefox, window (B) Tabby will appear. So it seems the action is technically successful but not visually.

I have the same issue, although I mostly use Firefox in full screen mode. I only get the "flash" of window (B) when I am not in full-screen mode.

When I use Tabby to go to a tab that is not in the current window (A), I am functionally but not visually switched to the "target" window (B). Functionally switched means that (A) is greyed out a bit and if I hit a key I switch to (B) and the keystroke is registered in (B).

For example, if I'm in window (A) and I use Tabby to click on a news article tab that's open in window B, it looks like I am still in window (A), although greyed-out. However, if I press space, it takes me to that news article tab in window (B), and registers the space press in that window - the news article is "paged down." If I am navigating to a Google Doc, pressing space would type a space in the doc.

Ideally, if I was in window (A) and clicked on a tab in window (B), it would switch the window I am looking at to window (B). Thanks!

Firefox 111.0 (64-bit)
