In some cases, changes made to the FAQ using the dedicated tool are marked as translation updates while it's not relevant. This gives unnecessary work to all translators, who must dismiss these translations in each language, while it could be done just once by the one making the FAQ update...

I have noticed 2 such cases:

  • when a FAQ item is hidden (unselecting the "active" checkbox on the FAQ edit page), it is marked as a translation update while the text is not changed (and it is obviously not necessary to translate something that will not be displayed anymore). Such translations could be marked as "do not translate" in the translation tool, but it may not the best solution because I think that flag would not be removed in case the FAQ item is made visible again.
  • when a FAQ item is moved from a category to another, it's also marked as a translation update while the text is not changed.

The best solution would probably be to add a "major translation" checkbox on the FAQ edit page, so the one editing can decide in each case if it needs to be marked as a translation update. Or at least to check if the text was changed, and not mark it as translation update if there is no change.
