AXS Software Synthesizer for MS-DOS fails to detect Sound Blaster 16 on some machines

As the title says.

It fails to detect the emulated Sound Blaster on certain machines, erroring out with a "not found at baseport" message. On my Skylake system it is able to detect it, but it may not be able to detect it on other machines.

I tried that masterpiece...looks nice.
It uses the PMODE/W DOS extender - this extender requires "jemmex novcpi" to be entered before it's launched, because else it will ignore the installed DPMI host.
I was unable to handle this program, though, so cannot really tell if it "works". But SB is detected, and many keys produce sound ( or rather: noise ). Tested in qemu.
