Steps To Reproduce

  1. Install ATI video cards in system
  2. Install BOINC version 8.0.2; errors will appear in log

Expected behavior
Installed GPUs are accessible to BOINC Mgr and available to process Einstein@Home work units.

Could you please specify if you run BOINC client as a regular application or as a service?
Also, could you please attach the next files from your BOINC DATA directory:

  • stdoutgpudetect.txt
  • stderrgpudetect.txt

Since there was no additional information provided during last 4 months, I'm closing this for now.

@CElliott316, could you please send me the next files:

  • stdoutgpudetect.txt
  • stderrgpudetect.txt
  • stdoutdae.txt
  • stdoutdae.old

I'm pretty much sure you have your BOINC installed as a service, but I need to double check to be sure.
Thank you in advance.

Ok, so here basically we have no issue from the BOINC client side.
The problem appears because during the BOINC client start the system is overloaded, and GPU detection just fails after 10 seconds timeout.
I see nothing that should be fixed on our side.
But I'd like to recommend to remove BOINC Manager (or BOINC client) from start-up and instead using Windows Scheduler to schedule BOINC client (together with Manager if needed) to start after some delay (up to the user to decide): https://windowsloop.com/delay-startup-programs-with-task-scheduler/
