The current automatic configuration for creating a VPC (which makes it unnecessary to follow the VPC section of the instructions) does not create the IPv6 route connection. You'll need to go to Route Tables, find the one for public which holds all three public subnets, Edit Routes, and add a route for ::/0 that targets the same internet gateway as the IPv4 version of 0.0.0.0/0
