RigCtl not changing mode

Hello, trying to use the rigctl server functionality and I am able to change the frequency with

rigctl -m 2 -r 127.0.0.1:4532  F 5420000 M AM 0

however, the mode does not change, no matter what I try.

Also noticed that it takes a while for the CLI control to be returned, although the frequency changes almost instantaneous.

For context, OS is debian12 and rigtcl is

rigctl Hamlib 4.5.4 Jan 10 01:31:41Z 2023 SHA=921cc5

Anyone else seen this before, or am I doing something wrong with the above command?

Edit: nevermind, it was the version used, tried on a different version (1.2.0) and works just fine. Panic over :-)
