copy/paste plain text into Trumbowyg editor converts line break into paragraph break

Any time I copy paste text, doesn't matter where the source, even if I paste as plain text - even from notepad, this appears to be the default behaviour. So then I have to go through removing all the extra lines. Is there a way to fix this? What am I missing? Thx
