The attribute view in edit mode is very sophisticated and takes into account settings that were defined in a .qml style file in QGIS. However, in view mode the display is not as good as in edit mode. For example, checkboxes are displayed nicely in edit-mode while in view-mode there is only the values 'true' or 'false' but no checkbox at all.

Just make the view-mode the same as the edit-mode as far as the display is concerned.
