Which .zip file should I download?

Download the ConsoleArcs.Voice.and.Graphics.Patch.zip.

In short, we are changing some things on our backend, and to make sure the links don't break, this particular release will have two .zip files, which are both the same file. The next release will only have one zip file.

Changes

The latest Console Arcs release adds the long-awaited English translation of Kotohogushi!

This arc is intended for people who have read Matsuribayashi and Miotsukushi Omote/PS2. This release also includes a small piece of bonus content for people who have read everything, under the Epilogue section.

At this point every arc that was planned to be included in the Console Arcs project been released, so I'm proud to say the project is officially complete. There will still be some minor releases for typos and other bug fixes of course, and there are a couple enhancements I'd still like to add, but this is the big sendoff so I hope you all enjoy it.

At this point if you want more Higurashi content, you'll have to pester MangaGamer to release the Rei and Hou arcs.

Changelog

  • English translation of Kotohogushi released
  • Epilogue added, including two last fragments, the Miotsukushi cast party (both PS3 and Switch versions) and a final retrospective
  • Various TL and typo fixes in Omote and Kageboushi
  • Fixed Arakawa's nametag color in Miotsukushi Ura

Kotohogushi soon™

The latest console arcs release adds a playable English translation for Hajisarashi. This is the dumb, fun fanservice arc. It's based on a short story that Ryukishi wrote. It should be read after completing Ch 8 Matsuribayashi, and it's technically a prequel to Saikoroshi so you may want to read that one first.

Kotohogushi is the next arc in the works, and there's a small bit of bonus content that'll come with it. Once that's done, the console arcs project will finally be complete.

Changelog

  • PC port/translation of Hajisarashi
  • Significant translation and typo fixes in many earlier arcs, especially Miotsukushi Omote/Ura (thanks everyone submitting fixes!)

This took way longer than expected, but here's the long awaited release of Miotsukushi PS2! There were a lot of unique challenges in being able to support both versions of this arc, but hopefully everything works properly.

If you're confused about what this arc is, there's now a Miotsukushi FAQ

Changelog

  • Implemented Miotsukushi PS2, using the same script files as Omote to minimize duplication of lines
  • Significant translation and typo fixes in all arcs (thanks everyone who submitted fixes!)
  • When choices are disabled, the system will now display in text which choice was automatically chosen
  • The Onigari-no-Ryuuou tip has been removed from both versions of Miotsukushi. You can read the official version in Matsuribayashi.

It's been a long time, but we finally have a new release! This includes the Connecting Fragments and Miotsukushi Ura.

This is the conclusion to the Advanced Story sequence, so make sure you've read Someutsushi, Kageboushi, and Tokihogushi beforehand. And the fragments should be read before Ura. The fragments don't quite work the same way they do in Matsuri, so just read them in the order they're listed in the menu.

Changelog

  • Connecting Fragments English translated
  • Miotsukushi Ura English translated
  • Translation fixes in Taraimawashi, Tsukiotoshi, and Someutsushi
  • Various typo fixes in all chapters
  • Fixed the issue with the text box opacity being set wrong
  • Chapter description screens have been updated to reflect the new flowchart
  • Scenes in Omote identical to scenes in Matsuribayashi now synced to use the official TL from Matsuri
  • Nagisa is now the face of Tokihogushi on the chapter select screen (don't be confused!)
  • Okonogi now has MangaGamer sprites
  • Several characters have more expressions in MG sprites because they could be pulled from Matsuribayashi
  • OG sprites with weird aliasing replaced with better quality rips
  • Eye effects replaced with 1080p versions
  • Rainy outdoor scenes in Kage/Toki now use the blue tinted filter so the sprites blend in better

The May 10th console arcs release introduced a game breaking bug in Miotsukushi Omote. If you've installed in the past week, please update to the latest version to make sure you get this fix.

Changelog

  • Fix game freezing while prompting a choice in Omote

New feature across all arcs containing bad ends. When you start the arc you'll get a prompt that allows you to enable/disable choices and choose to highlight correct answers. Now people who want an experience closer to the vanilla PC game can have that, and people who want to be sure they do the good/bads end first can easily figure out which choice is which.

Lots of spelling/translation fixes for the console arcs too, because it's been a while since the last release.

And get hype for Matsuribayashi, it's just around the corner!

Changelog

  • Overhaul choice implementation
  • Lots of translation fixes in Someutsushi
  • Various typo fixes in Yoigoshi, Tsukiotoshi, and Omote
  • Taraimawashi is now "Passing Blame" and Someutsushi is now "Stain Passing" on the intro screens

Very small release to fix an issue with the tips. If you haven't made it far enough in Mio to see these tips, consider doing an update from the installer.

Changelog

  • Fixes an issue that caused tips 2 and 3 in Miotsukushi Omote to get prompted out of order
  • Various typo fixes in Omote
